Sacred Heart School Endowment

Our most important possession is our Catholic Faith. As our parents did before us, we must pass that Faith on to the next generation. The best way of doing this is with Catholic education. To ensure the future of Catholic education, the Sacred Heart School Endowment was established in 1991.

The Sacred Heart School Endowment provides financial support for Catholic education in Boone, Iowa. A gift to the Endowment - an investment in the future - is a lasting treasure that keeps on giving for years to come!         
The interest income from the gift provides support for generations while allowing the donor a tax deducation in the year of the donation.
All gifts, no matter the size, help build a sound source of financial support and show faith in the future of our students and staff.

What is an Endowment?

An endowment is a fund whose principal is not spent. Only the income from investments is used to support and assist Sacred Heart School. As the fund grows it becomes an important help to the school. It keeps tuition costs down; it lessens the financial burden on the parish, and it assures a Catholic education to every child regardless of financial status. 
How is the fund managed?

The Sacred Heart School Endowment is managed by the Endowment Committee whose responsibilities are to solicit money for the fund, to safeguard and invest the funds, and provide Sacred Heart School with income from the fund. The Endowment Committee uses the services of a professional money manager and follows a policy of conservative investments. The Sacred Heart School Endowment is a legal, tax-exempt entity.

How can I give?

The simplest method is a direct gift of money, real estate, or securities. Other methods are to revise your will to name Sacred Heart School Endowment as a recipient of a percentage of your estate; to name the Endowment as a whole or partial beneficiary of a life insurance policy; or another method is a memorial....a gift in memoryof a loved one. 

We suggest that you visit with your tax or legal advisor about these and other methods. In such consultations, you need the name Sacred Heart School Endowment and its Federal Taxpayer I.D. to assure your gift keeps on giving. Please contact the Development Office (515-432-1971) for this number.
