Eclipse Camp

On Monday, August 21, Sacred Heart School, in conjunction with Iowa State University Extension - Boone County, held a day camp to learn about and view the solar eclipse.
Some of the activities included making a viewing box and then using it to safely view the eclipse, creating a solar oven to make s'mores, using special beads to learn which materials would block ultraviolet rays, and viewing glasses were also used to watch the eclipse.
In spite of the cloudy skies students were able to witness the various stages of the eclipse.
